A POEM BY ABHISHEK SUBEDI
I Wish I Could Love You Back!
I can feel the deep love inside you,
A love so pure, so tender, so true.
I wish I too could feel the way that you do,
But my heart is a shadow, lost in the blue.
You are caring, your touch like the morning dew,
Your laughter a melody, your eyes a soft hue.
You love with a fire, steady and bright,
Yet I stand in the cold, distant from light.
I wish I had met you in a different time,
When my heart wasn’t weary, when it could climb
To the heights of your love, to the warmth of your grace,
But now I’m a stranger, lost in this space.
You give me your all, your soul, your care,
But I’m haunted by the thought I should not be there.
Your love is a gift, a treasure so rare,
Yet I’m chained to that doubt, unable to share.
Oh, if only the stars had aligned just once,
If fate had been kinder, if I’d had the chance
To love you the way you deserve to be loved,
To hold you so close, to rise above.
But time is a thief, and hearts can’t be forced,
And I’m left with the weight of this deep remorse.
For you are the sun, and I am the night,
Two worlds apart, never quite right.
So I’ll cherish your kindness, your gentle embrace,
Though I can’t give you love, I’ll honor your grace.
For you taught me the beauty of a heart that’s true,
And I’ll carry your light, though I can’t love you.
