A POEM BY ABHISHEK SUBEDI
Letter That Was Never Sent!
I was always waiting
For the right moment to speak
For silence to feel safe
For my heart to be heard
But I stayed quiet.
I believed in timing
That someday you would notice
That love grows from patience
That holding back was brave
I was wrong to believe that.
You were meant to know
How much I noticed the little things
The way you laughed at your own jokes
The way your eyes searched the sky when you spoke
The way your presence softened the room
And still, I wrote nothing.
I folded my feelings into paper,
Let them remain locked in invisible envelopes,
Because I thought you’d never feel the same,
Because I feared being too much, too soon.
Maybe I should have risked it.
Maybe I should have said something.
Maybe we could have become something.
But just MAYBE.
So, I never told you.
You never stayed.
We never started.
And that’s how
We ended.
